Judging by the Kickstarter funds raised I am not the only one that remembers in the late 90's when Wizard's of the Coast released this tabletop sci-fi RPG. They've met their $35,000 goal and the project is once again being developed with Richard Baker, one of the creators of the original Alternity. The books still rest on my shelf because I have attachment issues! I'd bought the original core books and campaign settings and enjoyed some games. A terrific game it was though the rules of the original tried too much to be different from 2nd edition and within a couple years 3rd edition D&D would be released along with the D20 OGL. Finally the setting is coming back so now I just want to see when and how they'll interpret the Dark Matter and Star Drive campaign settings.
